Dota 2 : The International 5 All-Star Match

Hello everyone ! I am really sorry for the lack of updates lately, I have been quite busy with school and other things, especially since finals are coming up in a couple of weeks, which has made it difficult to game in the past week or so. It's sad because it happens to be around the time TI5 is happening :( As I have not played Dota that long, I have not watched many of these annual competitions, and when I actually want to check it out I have exams, so that's kinda sad. I did however, have the awesome opportunity to check out to All-Star match, which was played in a very interesting format, a 10v10 ! It seems that custom lobbies in Dota 2 will now be able to support up to 24 players by next week ! That means that you can potentially have a 12v12, which is definitely something I'm gonna try out. For now though, I shall share my thoughts on the match :D

So due to my limited knowledge of the Doa 2 pro scene, there are very few professional players that I am aware of, yes it is kind of bad that I as an avid fan of Dota is not familiar with most professional players but I play the game for fun and so I don't really keep up. This means that unfortunately, I will not be able to really introduce most of the players pictured below to you. I do know Mushi though, as he is a Malaysian player, and since I am from MY myself, you can guess that I would know at least him.

Team BigDaddy was called Team NoTail though

Dendi from Natus Vincere, who has apparently been part of every All-Star match to date, was not invited to this one. That didn't stop him though, as he happened to be selected as one of 5 members of the audience to play on each team due to his impressive cosplay of Pudge. The crowd went nuts when he was unmasked on stage, and I was really suprised myself, as I knew what Dendi looked like and thought, "wow that guy looks like Dendi", before actually realising it was him.

The most tense moment was definitely when Team Chuan pushed all the way into the Radiant base and brought the ancient down to almost 100 hp before Team NoTail came back and destroyed them, leading to them pushing into Team Chuan's base and ultimately securing victory in the most intense comeback ever worthy of Dota 2's first official 10v10. When asked what the biggest problem was for Team Chuan, Coach Chuan replied "Mushi", obviously hinting at the fact that Mushi had purchased a Divine Rapier which was eventually forfeited to the enemy team and played a large part in their victory.

The match was very tense and fun and all around an incredible fight to watch. I recommend everyone check it out on twitch if you missed the livestream to get the full experience as I obviously cannot picture the entire match here in words. It is the weekend now so I hope to catch the last few games tomorrow and maybe write about it here for all or you. That's all for now, I hope you all will or have derived as much fun from the match as I did. :D
